House Tour

Welcome to House on Granite! We are so glad you are here! Our home is located in the little town of Philipsburg Montana, built by Frederick Bowen in 1890. I am going to start this blog by giving you a tour of this historic house. My fiancé Mick bought this home back in 2021 and we have been renting it out on AirBnB. We decided after dreaming about it forever to move in full time and we are loving it! There are SO many restoration projects we have planned and can’t wait to share them all with you. This house has so much character, with tons of natural light, amazing views, original doors and hardware. SOOO let me show you around!

Our front entry: We just painted this door and added the copper kick plate, I love how this turned out. You will see that on the inside it still has its natural wood that matches the beautiful staircase. I have included a few of our holiday photos as well because well, it was just a few weeks ago and I LOVE how cozy it looked.

Our sweet little kitchen was probably redone a few decades ago, it’s adorable and reminds you of a simpler times. I absolutely love the wood burning stove and that will stay for sure when we remodel this space. I have so many ideas I can’t wait so share but for now a look around… How fun is that sink!

The town of Philipsburg is known for its mining history, world class fly fishing, hunting, skiing and beautiful scenery. The town is adorable with so much charm and we love that we can walk to the local shops and restaurants. Here are a few photos of the outside of the house, our beautiful view and the downtown.

Mick and I are so excited to share our restoration process with you here on this blog. Having his shop here in Montana where he creates his beautiful custom pieces is such a dream. This house is our labor of love and it brings me so much joy to bring it back to life. Filled with love, laughter and creativity.

One more photo. This is one of my favorites from when we first bought the house back in 2021. So excited to be a part of this homes history!
